Dutch Defense Minister: Patriot System Will Be Deployed In Lithuania

Kajsa Ollogren announced at a press conference held at the Ministry of National Defense in Vilnius that the Patriot system would be deployed in Lithuania on July 6-23, delfi.lt reports.

On Monday, Minister of Defense Laurynas Kasčiūnas met with Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren, who arrived in Lithuania.

The Defense Ministers of Lithuania and the Netherlands will discuss the deployment of Patriot air defense systems. The ministers have already discussed bilateral defense cooperation, future exercises during which the Netherlands will deploy the Patriot long-range air defense system in Lithuania.

As previously reported, at the end of March the Netherlands decided to deploy the Patriot long-range air defense system in Lithuania for several weeks this summer.

It is informed that the Dutch military unit will undergo training in Lithuania along with units of the Lithuanian Army.
